How to put GUSSA on the menu.

Everything a rep needs to walk into a spot near campus, offer a free sample, and follow up. Five minutes to read, and most of it is common sense said plainly.

Six steps

From your list to their kitchen.

  1. Pick five spots

Wings first: GUSSA was made for them. Then the pizza counter, the taco window, the burger place, wherever campus ends up after midnight. Start with the ones you already go to; owners notice regulars.

  2. Taste it yourself

Put your kit bottle on wings, fries, a slice. You'll pitch it better when you can say what you liked. Sweet first, then the kick.

  3. Go in when it's quiet

Between lunch and dinner, roughly 2 to 4 on a weekday. Never during a rush, and never on a Friday night. Ask for whoever decides the menu: the owner, the manager or the kitchen lead.

  4. Offer the sample

Keep it to three sentences (there's a script below). The ask is small: a free sample pack for the kitchen to try. No price talk, no commitment.

  5. Ask for it on your rep page

When they say yes, get the name of the person you talked to and the address to ship to. Ask for the sample on your rep page before you forget. We ship it with a note that you sent it, and email you when it's out.

  6. Check back in a week

Stop by and ask what they put it on. If they want to order, they write to us, or you send us who to contact. We take it from there.

What to say

Three sentences, then listen.

Put it in your own words. The parts that matter: who you are, what GUSSA is, and that the sample is free.

“Hi, I'm your name, a student at your school and a campus rep for GUSSA.

It's an Indian sweet and spicy sauce: sweet first, then the kick. It's made for wings, and it works on pizza, tacos and fries too.

Could we send you a free sample pack for the kitchen to try? No cost, nothing to sign.”

If they ask

  • “What does it cost?” The sample is free. For pricing, GUSSA quotes them directly; you don't need to know.
  • “Who do I order from?” GUSSA, directly. They invoice and ship; you never handle stock or money.
  • “What's in it?” Point them to the label and gussa.com rather than answering from memory.
The rules

What not to promise.

Prices, deals and dates

GUSSA sets each spot's prices and terms and deals with the spot directly. Don't quote a price, a discount, an exclusive or a delivery date, even a rough one.

Health and allergen claims

Stick to what's on the label and on gussa.com. No health, nutrition or allergen claims of your own: if they ask, point them to the label.

Selling or leaving product

Your kit is for tasting and promotion: don't sell it. Samples go to spots that asked for one, from us, addressed to the spot. Don't leave bottles behind without asking.

Signing or agreeing anything

You're independent, so you can't make commitments or sign agreements for GUSSA. Follow your school's rules on promoting and soliciting on campus.

Posting

Say you're a rep, every time

Add #ad or #GUSSApartner in the post itself, not only in your bio. US law requires it, even when all you got was a free kit. Tag @getgussa, use #HowDoYouGussa, and ask before you post someone else's face or their shop.

Samples

Ask on your rep page

Every sample pack is free and ships from us. Spend them on the spots that said yes. The link to your rep page is in your welcome email.

Earning

Paid when they reorder

When a spot you brought in orders a second time, you earn a commission, confirmed with you in writing before your first spot orders. A spot's commission is fixed on the day of its first order, and only paid orders count.
